What advantage does a planetary winch provide over a worm drive winch?
The most notable advantage is in winch efficiency. Planetary winches provide up to three times the line speed of competitive worm drive winches, while still providing the same lifting capabilities. This means more speed, more lifting power, and best of all, more productivity.
Why does Stellar Industries use hexagonal boom designs on the heavy duty cranes?
Because they are stronger and self aligning. In the field this means you will have less boom flex under load, and less boom slop when rotating the crane.
How does Stellar achieve 28' of hydraulic boom extension when the competition only provides 16'?
This is accomplished with dual extension cylinders. We found that while other companies offer manual extensions to 20', these extensions were seldom used. They were either left extended or retracted, and when they were used, they were usually very tight and near impossible to operate manually. To cure this we made a commitment to make two hydraulic extensions a standard feature on our heavy duty cranes.
Can I control other functions other than my crane from my radio remote?
Yes! In addition to fully proportional crane functions, your radio remote has four option functions. These are often used for compressor on/off, engine start/stop and engine speed control. That leaves one additional option the customer can use for whatever they like.
How did Stellar create a line of cranes with so many unique features?
While most companies are redesigning cranes that are over 25 years old, Stellar started with a clean slate and advice from end users nation wide. And what we came up with was a revolution in features to provide the most efficient and productive cranes the market has ever seen.
