Drawer Systems – Built to Work

At our American Eagle Accessories Group division, we produce industry leading drawer systems under the American Eagle brand name that are built to take the extreme rigors that are present in almost every imaginable work environment. We use 500 lb. capacity slides that come with a no-hassle lifetime guarantee. Unlike our competitors, if there is a broken slide, we will send out a new pair with fasteners at no charge. No questions asked, just give us a shipping address and we will handle the rest.

We also use a tough powder coated finish. Powder coating the drawer fronts makes the finish virtually indestructible and will look great for the life of your service truck. We offer this tough, powder coat finish in gray for our heavy-duty drawer systems and blue for our lightweight aluminum systems. If other colors are requested, we do have the capabilities to paint whatever color our customer wants.

All of our American Eagle® drawer systems are made right in Garner, Iowa, in a state-of-the-art facility, by employee owners that take pride in what they do. We all know that every product that leaves our facility is a reflection of not only our company as a whole, but also a reflection of us as individuals. So, every time you get an American Eagle drawer system, remember that it was fabricated and assembled by PEOPLE that really care about OUR PRODUCTS.

Setting Yourself Apart

Early this week I had the opportunity to sit in on a seminar lead by Marcus Sheridan. Marcus is a fantastic speaker with some exciting philosophies. One of the biggest ideas that I took away from the seminar is how to set oneself apart from the competition. His philosophy is that in order to set yourself apart from the competition, you first have to get close to them. I invite you to use the search engine of your choice to read into him and his philosophies or visit him at http://www.thesaleslion.com/.

Marcus noticed that the questions that his prospective customers were frequently asking didn’t have conveniently found answers. So he started answering the questions. What he found was that as a part of answering these questions it was putting his company in a direct, side-by-side comparison to his competitors. It is sometime difficult to put yourself in this position, because sometimes your competitors have a better widget here and a better option there – and that isn’t always something you’re comfortable putting out there for all to see.

However, Marcus’ strategy proved to work well for his business, as he now publicly speaks about this and other philosophies. By being honest with the people that were interested in his product, he was able to bring them to his company, build their trust in him, which let to them buying his product.

What I learned was that we should be willing to honestly put ourselves up against our competitors, and to accept what we are not doing as well as them and address that with the ones asking the questions. In being honest and forthright we will learn more about ourselves and what others expect from us, we will build trust, and deliver a delightful customer experience.

Safety is worth the investment

This week I have been getting ready for my annual whitetail deer hunting trip by rounding up clothes and gear.  Over the past decade that I have been pursuing whitetail, I have invested a lot in equipment involved with the adventure, and one of these is the required wearing of blaze orange apparel.  We are unseasonably warm for this time of year in North Central Iowa with temperatures forecasted to be in the fifties this weekend so I am faced with a conundrum.  I have made a lot investments in cold weather gear, which won’t necessarily suffice.  So, I have to make more investments in the name of safety, as this is what the purpose of the blaze orange is.

So, remember that safety is an investment.  Whether you are driving, working, or even hunting, it is worth the time and effort to invest in safety.  Keep safety on your mind as you are preparing for the holiday season and into 2015 and use every opportunity to invest in the safety for yourself, your family, and others around you.

Looking at the Past to See the Future

This last Monday was Columbus Day in the United States; this got me thinking about what Christopher Columbus was thinking before he took his infamous journey 522 years ago.  He and his crew were taking a journey into the relatively unknown, all on the premise of commerce.  They rallied and headed into the sunset with hopes of success, the rest is history.

Companies must be willing to do the same thing, theoretically.  Companies take calculated risks all of the time in the hopes that it will help them grow both in physical size and financial status.  If done correctly, these risks pay off huge.  One case in point is what we have done with our Stellar® Mechanic’s Crane line of products.  Stellar Industries took a risk by stepping into an established market with innovative products with industry first features, at a reasonable cost.  Now, fifteen years after the introduction of this line, we are still the leading innovators.  We recently ventured into uncharted territory within this market and introduced the Stellar® CDTplus™ and E-link control systems.  If you haven’t checked them out yet, you should venture over to the website and see what they’re all about.  This new technology once again has the competition scrambling to catch up with our state-of-the-art technology and features.

So be willing to take calculated risks, rally your crew and capitalize on positive results.  You can become legendary, and maybe even discover a whole new world out there.
