Quality Specialist

Overview

The Quality Specialist will provide support to Production, for quality concerns at Stellar Industries, Inc. They will work with all managers, process owners, supervisors, and technicians to define, measure, and correct any issues noted during the manufacturing process. Also, this position is responsible for finding trends and giving feedback to employees on the floor to properly maximize productivity.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate across functions and sites, leveraging quality and manufacturing expertise to troubleshoot problems, interpret data and determine next steps with a risk-based approach.
  • Communicates quality issues with responsible team members.
  • Guide production teams to properly disposition parts as good for use, needs repair, or scrap.
  • Construct and maintain strong relationships with members of all nearby teams.
  • Be capable of reading drawings, understanding dimensional callouts, and other technical documentation.
  • Identify and differentiate between several defect types.
  • Perform system, process, and product audits.
  • Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality through work with responsible internal and external parties.
  • Work with engineering, manufacturing, and sales to verify end customers finished product.
  • Run tests on all products as needed to guarantee a quality product for the customer.
  • Act as a positive role model for all co-workers.
  • Promote a productive and non-disruptive work ethic with the company.
  • Continuously promotes and fosters a culture of working safely.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Preferred Experience:

  • MRP Systems experience preferred.
  • Should be familiar with the automotive industry and truck up fitting.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt experience and certification desired, but not required.

 Skills Required:

  • Be familiar with the automotive industry and truck up fitting.
  • Read drawings and other documents.
  • Have mechanical skills.
  • Works well as a team member.
  • Able to work alone, self-directed.

 Education and Experience:

  • Proficient with measuring tools and equipment.
  • Computer Proficient with the ability to work fluently with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 2- year technical degree or 5 years related experience

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the job duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • The employee frequently is required to talk and hear, and frequently required to reach, stoop, kneel and crouch.
  • The employee may also be required to lie under equipment to visually and physically inspect components.
  • Employee may be required to work indoors in a shop environment and also outside in all weather conditions.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Company sponsored continuing education may be required.
  • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
