Laser Utility/Door Assembly
Job Summary: The Laser Unloader / Utility Operator is responsible for safely unloading cut parts from laser cutting machines, sorting and staging materials, performing quality checks, and supporting overall production operations. This position plays a key role in maintaining production flow by ensuring parts are properly identified, handled, and delivered to the next operation while assisting in various utility tasks throughout the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Remove finished parts and skeletons from laser cutting tables safely and efficiently.
• Sort, count, and stage parts according to work orders and production requirements.
• Inspect parts for quality issues such as incorrect dimensions, burrs, dross, scratches, or damage.
• Complete required production paperwork and maintain accurate part counts.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, hoists, and other material handling equipment as required.
• Deliver material and completed parts to designated work centers.
• Assist laser operators with loading, unloading, and setup activities.
• Remove scrap materials and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Support production needs in other departments as assigned.
• Door assembly.
• Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures.
• Communicate production issues, material shortages, or quality concerns to supervisors and team members.
• Assist with packaging and preparing orders for shipping when needed.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to read work instructions, labels, and production documents.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Forklift experience preferred (or willingness to become certified).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, twist, and perform repetitive motions.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
