Matt Schroeder likes being a part of something meaningful. He sensed that Stellar was a cut above other companies when he joined in 2003 right after graduating from Iowa State University. Over the decades, he’s gained valuable experience working in numerous positions across research and development, engineering and customer service.

Today, he serves as Stellar’s Vice President of Supply Chain/Product Management. Focused on the long-term growth and the empowerment of innovative ideas, he provides strong leadership that supports and advances Stellar’s production initiatives.

“One of the most rewarding aspects of Stellar is being a part of an employee-owned, winning team,” Schroeder says.

He shares President and CEO Dave Zrostlik’s vision that the opportunity to be challenged provides self-growth and workplace development. Schroeder holds a strong belief in Stellar’s key organizational pillars with their ability to foster a strong employee-ownership culture.

He strives to lead his team in a way that amplifies the growth and deployment of employees. Schroeder is constantly on the search for innovative solutions that contribute to Stellar’s growth and gets excited about the new Ideas Program that strengthens collaboration among employee-owners along with the new paint line at the Mason City Plant.

Beyond Stellar, Schroeder deeply values his family and strives to offer his children meaningful opportunities. So, 10 years ago when the chance came to rescue and raise a colony of bees, he was eager to take on the task.

“Teaching my kids about the value of nature is very important to me,” Schroeder says. “This family hobby is a great way to do so.”

Starting from the ground up, Schroeder researched and networked with others about the proper way to take care of a beehive. Over the years, the family’s hobby has evolved to produce honey, lip balm and candles from the beeswax.

Alongside beekeeping, he finds meaning in giving back to the community where he lives and works. He has been a volunteer and first responder for the Ventura, Iowa, Fire Department for 16 years.

By supporting those around him, he fosters both personal and professional growth. Displaying this not only sets an example for his children, but also gives him the opportunity to make an impact on those around him.

Schroeder is looking forward to the future of Stellar and what it holds for all employee-owners. He is honored to be a part of a company dedicated to providing an exceptional work environment that leads to the production of world-class products.
