Garner, Iowa — Stellar, a 100% employee-owned and -operated manufacturer of high-quality mechanic trucks and cranes, tire service trucks, hooklift, roll-off & container trucks, utility & telecom trailers, and service truck & van accessories, recently announced its significant contribution to the Xtra Innings campaign, a community project partnership between the City of Garner and the Garner Area Betterment Association. Stellar donated $100,000 to Garner Parks and Recreation in support of the ambitious baseball complex renovation initiative, reinforcing its commitment to investing in the local community and ensuring a modernized facility for Garner locals of all ages to enjoy.

The initiative’s mission is to transform the existing baseball and softball fields into an enhanced sports complex that builds the capacity of young athletes and opens up opportunities for the community to gather and prosper. Once complete, the project will provide three playing fields, upgraded amenities, restrooms, concessions and improved overall experiences for young athletes and their families. With the generous donation from Stellar, the project has gained substantial momentum and is expected to provide a lasting impact for generations to come.

“We are thrilled to contribute to the Garner Parks initiative,” said David Zrostlik, President of Stellar. “As a company deeply rooted in Garner, we understand the importance of providing a first-class environment for children to participate in sports and build lifelong memories. This donation reflects our commitment to giving back to the community that has supported us throughout our own journey of growth and change.”

The donation from Stellar will help fund critical aspects of the renovation project, including repositioning the fields to get all home plates to a centralized location; adding two new youth fields; adding infields, outfields, fencing and covered dugouts to all fields; paving the centralized area, sidewalks and parking areas; adding electrical to accommodate lighting; building a concession stand; adding a batting cage, shade structures and bleachers; purchasing a field groomer, pitching machines and windscreens; and more.

This new baseball complex will provide the necessary environment to build the foundational skills of our future athletes and help to create a setting conducive to cultivating talent, promoting physical fitness and instilling a sense of teamwork and camaraderie among young athletes.

In addition, the enhancements will allow Garner Parks to host league games for all ages with the possibility of scheduling home tournaments. The new complex will also open up the opportunity to bring in more visitors, resulting in increased revenue for the Garner community.

Stellar has a long-standing tradition of supporting local initiatives and investing in the betterment of Garner. This donation to the Xtra Innings initiative exemplifies the company’s unwavering dedication to its hometown and its belief in the potential of the next generation.

“Xtra Innings, as well as Garner Parks and Rec, are grateful for the contribution of Stellar,” said Karla Juenger-Rudisill, Parks and Recreation Director in Garner. “Because of the great support of businesses like Stellar, all Garner children will have the opportunity to learn the game on facilities that are reflective of our great community.”
